Mushroom Powders
Organic, Canadian-grown mushroom powders
At Weth Mushrooms, we specialize in premium quality powdered mushrooms you can use:
Our mushrooms contain compounds that are not found in any other form, from any other source. The key to this is the mushrooms we grow synthesize these compounds during healthy, active growth. We are fortunate enough to take advantage of these water-based compounds as well as fibre and proteins.
We grow all our own organic shiitake, maitake and lion’s mane mushrooms on our proprietary growing medium produced on site at our Huron County, Ontario Farm. When they are at their peak of mushroom perfection, we hand-pick them, gently transport them to our low temperature dryer and dry them within short hours of picking. Once completely dry, we then pulverize them into our signature mushroom powders.
So, Weth Mushrooms powdered shiitake, maitake and lion’s mane contain just 100% powdered whole mushrooms, with no non-mushroom fillers, excessive grains, or additives.
Add our high-quality organic mushroom powders to your cooking and drinks including coffee, smoothies, gravy, stocks, soups, and even baking and desserts!
Why buy powdered mushrooms
Our powders are perfect for people who want the health benefits of mushrooms but don’t necessarily like the taste or texture of mushrooms themselves. They can even be hidden in your favourite meals without complaints from your kids! This is the great part of using powders; a tablespoon in a dish is the equivalent of almost a quarter pound of fresh mushrooms, enough to hit your daily needs for Vitamin D as well as all the other benefits.
Our proprietary strains of shiitake, maitake and lion’s mane mushrooms powders will quickly become your ‘secret ingredient’, adding depth of flavour and richness to any recipe. This is especially important when trying to minimize the use of salt or artificial flavours.
Our mushroom powder and packed in airtight resealable pouches, so they last for many months in your pantry. You can buy our dried mushroom powders at our retailers or our online store and enjoy speedy delivery direct to your door.

Why choose our Ontario-grown mushroom powders

There is quite literally a world of difference between our organically and sustainably produced Canadian mushroom powders compared with imported mushroom powders.
Many mushroom powders available in Canada market themselves as “Canadian” but are simply packaged here. The dried mushrooms are usually imported from Asia. (Look for the country-of-origin statement on the packet, be suspicious of “Packed in Canada”.)
Unlike our 100% mushroom powders which are produced using a single type of mushroom, these imported powdered mushroom products can contain non-mushroom fillers, like grain and wood. They may also contain heavy metals and other contaminants due to the polluted environment they are grown in.
Our organic, premium specialty mushrooms are grown here year-round on our Ontario mushroom farm. So, our products are absolutely 100% Canadian.

Health benefits of mushroom powders
Our mushroom powders have the same potential health benefits as their equivalent fresh and dried mushrooms, and are potentially more versatile. Mushroom powders are becoming very popular as a supplement for vegan and vegetarian diets due to their unique nutrients.

Powdered mushrooms for chefs, cafés and caterers

We can supply your hospitality business, health store, delicatessen, or grocery store with our locally produced mushroom powders. For more details see our “Mushrooms for chefs and stores” page.

How to make mushroom coffee
You can use our high-quality mushroom powders to make your own mushroom coffee. Simply add a teaspoon of mushroom powder for every dry cup of ground or whole coffee beans. This can be added to the brew basket or to the final brew once poured or dispensed. Brew for a healthier, nutrient-rich coffee that’s tastes pretty much like normal coffee!
Lion’s Mane is the ideal mushroom powder for mushroom coffee. Try your own mixes of mushroom powder/s and healthy ingredients to eliminate caffeine if that’s your goal. It’s not necessary to get carried away with too much, as a dried portion is typically nine to ten times what a fresh portion is.
The mushroom powder in your cup of coffee could help reduce jitteriness and improve your immunity – see our Health benefits of mushrooms page for more details.
IMPORTANT: A typical dose of mushroom powder is a teaspoon or less to start. If you are on medications to maintain blood sugar levels or blood disorders use cautiously. Also, if you don’t typically consume mushrooms also use cautiously. Please consult your physician if you are taking any medications that could interact with mushrooms.
